Get Away to Nature

With 100 miles of shoreline to offer, Perquimans County is a favorite among kayakers! The scenery and wildlife will give rest to a weary soul. Don't own or travel with a kayak of your own? Check out the self-serving kayak kiosk at the Hertford town offices and marina at 114 W Grubb Street, Hertford NC.
The walking trail at Perquimans County Recreation Center has paved portions, wooded portions, and has one of the best river views in the area.
A stop at Planters Ridge is always a treat. This local garden center, florist, and sandwich shop is an excellent place to get off your feet for lunch, and check out the seasonal home and garden decor as well!
If fishing is what you're hoping for, Captain Jeff Ownley with Albemarle Fishing Charters would love to take you out and put you on the best spots!
In season, Manzer's Nursery offers classes like landscape deisgn, making wind chimes with natural materials, and plant propagation.
