The Perquimans Arts League
The Perquimans Arts League Gallery, located in the Hall of
Fame Building, 109 N. Church Street in Downtown Historic Hertford,
has a changing display of artistic work done locally. Hours are
Monday through Saturday, 10:00 am � 5:00 pm.
The mission of the Perquimans Arts League is to promote, nurture and
preserve high standards of art and culture in the community, to
encourage amateurs and professionals in the arts and to partner
with other organizations and groups to initiate arts programs to
strenghten the role of the arts in community projects. The Perquimans
Arts League supports literary, visiual and performing arts through
educational and cultural arts programs. The League develops partnerships
with other organizations and groups to initiate programs to strenghten
the role of the arts in community projects associated with Perquimans
County and the Albemarle region.
The gallery shop features a diverse selection of original works of art
including, paintings , photography, pottery, baskets, glass, fiber art,
jewelry and painted furniture , as well as note cards,etc .
The gallery is supported by the Perquimans Arts League, a
not-for-profit organization , founded in l995 to promote artistic endeavor
in Perquimans County. League members volunteer to work with local
schools and other groups to help develop literary, visual and performing
arts programs. Grants by the North Carolina Arts Council and gallery
sales financially support the league.
Everyone is invited to join in supporting the arts in our area. If you
are an artist , please feel welcome to submit your items for review by the
